Tatiana, co-founder of Dancing Family Records with her brother Yohan, is a French-American singer who began her musical journey by emulating her favorite artists such as Patti Smith and Stevie Nicks. After relocating to London for her studies in curation at Saint-Martin's, she immersed herself in the capital's burgeoning Neo-Soul scene. With a folk upbringing and a keen interest in the contemporary musical landscape of London, the 20-year-old's style is a fusion of both influences. Inspired greatly by artists like Green Tea Peng, she strives to blend her vocal style with the diverse range of UK electronic music.
In addition to her love for music, Tatiana is also an aspiring photographer. Responsible for shaping Dancing Family Records' visual identity, she incorporates her photographic style into the label, emphasizing vivid lighting, saturated colors, and portraiture.
CAPZ, also known as Morgan McDermott, is a native of South-East London. He first met Tatiana in 2017, and their shared passion for visual arts and music forged a strong bond between them. Together, they had begun working on "Darlin' Take It Slow" before March of this year when their friend and producer RJ provided them with the beat. It wasn't until June/July and the easing of lockdown restrictions that they commenced recording the single. This marks the first time both artists have collaborated on their own release, having previously featured music by Haroun (Dancing Family Records).
A devoted skater, visual artist, and graphic designer, CAPZ's work can be seen in the Dancing Family Records logo. The 22-year-old has also collaborated with Tatiana on her upcoming photography project, which explores inner femininity and examines androgyny in young men.
