TBC - Explode Drape Object - Surface Modeling Edition Commands
The process of draping an object, such as a linestring, onto a surface creates a draped line that is tied to the finished ground. This means that if the surface changes, the draped line will automatically update to reflect those changes. However, if there is a need to disconnect or untie the draped line from the surface, the 'explode' command can be used. By right-clicking and selecting 'explode,' the draped line is converted into a CAD 3D polyline. This transformation retains the line but changes its properties, allowing it to be used in other commands. While a draped line can serve as a breakline in a surface, its functionality is limited when building off of it. The 'explode' command thus provides a way to convert a draped object into a more versatile CAD 3D polyline, expanding its usability in various applications.
