Simplex 2098-9636 Smoke detector
A quick magnet test of this old photoelectric smoke detector. I am surprised my EST panel accepts this smoke. Manufactured by Hochiki, and marked 1985, not sure if that was year of manufacture. My favorite style vintage smoke heads (next to Fenwal PSD 7125)I still see a lot of Simplex detectors like this & similar from this era still in use today. Photoelectric heads don't really expire like ionization ones I suppose, as long as they are maintained.
