MPG Improvements with Maintenance.
When my 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid reached 175,000 miles it started getting about decreased fuel economy, from 48+ MPG to about 33+ MPG. I regularly do the Honda recommended maintenance: CVT transmission fluid change, Oil Change, Tire pressure checks, tire rotations, new tires, valve clearance, and new spark plugs after 100,000 miles. I recently replacing the IMA battery in about 8-10 months ago, with a new one increased the MPG back to about 38-40 MPG. Last month I did the throttle body cleaning and new Serpent Belt, and reset the idle procedure, these updates increased the MPG to about 42+. YAY! Thought its not the same as 48 MPG i was getting when new or several years ago its better than the dismal 33 mpg i was getting. Be it this is a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid with 188,000 miles, its still trooper and handles well... I replaced all the strut suspension about 140,000 miles. overall I am happy i bought this car new, its reliability, and ease of maintenance.
This is how i do it for entertainment, do so at your own risk or bring it to an auto professional at repair shop. Thanks for watching.
