🌟 Know the Differences: Oxidizing Agent vs. Neutralizing Agent 🌟
When you ask me if I recommend using a neutralizer instead of an oxidizing agent, I always say NO ❌. I believe each product is designed for a specific purpose, and there are qualified professionals who have studied to ensure this is the case. Therefore, it's not my place to change it, although I respect those who do, and if it works for you, go for it!
🔹 Oxidizing Agent: It is responsible for:
▫️Lightening the hair: Removes the hair's natural color.
▫️Activating the color: Converts the dye precursors into colored pigments.
▫️Stabilizing the color: Helps the color last longer.
The concentration of the oxidizing agent (volume) determines the intensity of the lightening and color-fixing effects.
🔹 Neutralizer: It's responsible for:
▫️Reuniting disulfide bonds: Reconstitutes the bonds broken during the process, fixing the new hair shape (curly or straight).
▫️Fixing the new shape: Ensures that the changes in the hair structure are long-lasting.
▫️Restores pH: Returns the hair's pH to its natural level.
▫️Sealing the cuticle: Protects the hair and leaves it healthier and shinier.
❌ Don't confuse them! Using a neutralizer instead of an oxidizer is not the same thing 🤷🏻♀️
