A major new BandLab update now includes MIDI Mapping. This allows anyone with a midi keyboard or midi controller to assign and control parameters using the knobs and faders on your MIDI controller.
This is a really cool feature as it allows us to take more control of our Bandlab song.

I am using the M Audio Code 49 midi controller which is ideal for all digital audio workstations and is perfect for Bandlab. I love it because it has 16 drum pads which makes playing BandLab’s Drum Kits, Creator Kits and Drum Pads so much easier, plus 49 keys.
There are also eight faders and eight knobs which can be used to control Bandlab’s master volume, track volumes, play and record, mute and solo, panning and I’ve worked out a way that we can now actually play chords using just one finger.
1. Make sure your MIDI controller is plugged in and has been set up for use with Windows or macOS
2. In the Mix Editor, click on the MIDI Mappings button at the bottom-right of the screen
3. The parameters that can be mapped will be highlighted red. Click on a parameter you want to map.
If you’re like me with no formal music skills, playing chords can be challenging. It’s one of the reasons that I love music technology as it allows me to play and express myself creatively and easily.
So Let me show you a great super hack that will enable you to play chords with one finger using the new MIDI mapping in BandLab.
I’m going to use the pads but it can just as easily be done on any of the keys
