MELITOPOL The whole world is at one place, RIGHT HERE!
In 2008, Melitopol became a member of the Council of Europe international project "Intercultural Cities" and became the 1st city in Ukraine representing the country in this project. European countries are interested in the experience of Melitopol, where more than a century peacefully inhabited by more than 100 nationalities. Melitopol proudly calls itself the "intercultural source of Ukraine." Association of national-cultural societies are actively working in the city.
The city has a Plan of intercultural integration and the interculturalism has been included as an important area in the city’s s trategy to 2030.
Melitopol works hard to encourage and protect the cultural diversity of people in the city with different origins, religion, languages and to prevent forced assimilation and any loss of culture heritage
