In the last few years Software Functional Test Automation has grown leaps and bounds. UAT automation is as mainstream as any other type of testing. A lot of tools and practices have been developed to unify functional and automation testing such as "Given-When-Then" test cases. Nevertheless there is a lot of gap between functional testing and automation testing. Test Automation still requires a lot of manual functional intervention to be complete execution. Test case management, story validation and movement and automation test artefacts continue to be silos of their own.
