On Nag Panchami, people across the country worship the serpent god at Nag temples. It is believed that pleasing the serpent god brings prosperity and happiness to life and relieves one from the ill effects of the serpent dosha. However, if there is no Nag temple nearby, one can still please the serpent god by offering milk to Lord Shiva at a Shiva temple. There are certain activities that are prohibited on this day.

नाग पंचमी के दिन देश भर में नाग मंदिर में नाग देवता की पूजा की जाती है. माना जाता है कि नाग देवता प्रसन्न होने से जीवन में सुख समृद्धि की वृद्धि होती है और नाग दोष से मुक्ति मिलती है. हालांकि अगर आपके आसपास कोई भी नाग मंदिर ना हो तो इस दिन आप शिव मंदिर जाकर दूध से अभिषेक भगवान शिव करें तोह भी नाग देवता प्रसन्न होते हैं. वहीं कई ऐसे कार्य होते हैं जो इस दिन मनाही होती है.
