The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console produced by Nintendo. The console was announced in March 2010 and unveiled at E3 2010 as the successor to the Nintendo DS. The system features backward compatibility with Nintendo DS video games.
The game was designed to resemble the Pokémon anime series, with the player receiving a Pikachu as their starter Pokémon, and their rival starting with an Eevee. Some non-player characters resemble those from the anime, including Team Rocket's Jessie and James.
