Today I’m going to be showing you how to install reCAPTCHA on your Gravity Forms on your WordPress website. The first thing you want to do is log into your website and navigate to your dashboard. From there on the left-hand side go to Gravity Forms, hover over it, then click on settings. You’ll notice there’s a section on the left called reCAPTCHA and that’s where you’re going to put in your 2 API keys.

You can get these API keys just by going to google, logging into your google account, and then going to this url: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/about/. If you are logged in, click where it says admin console. Press the plus icon to add a new website. You can name it whatever you like. In this case I’m just going to name it TTG Playground.

You will notice you have 2 options here: reCAPTCHA v2 and reCAPTCHA v3. ReCAPTCHA v2 is the type of captcha where you have to check off a little checkbox. ReCAPTCHA v3 is a newer version that is actually invisible.

Under the domain section you will want to put your website URL. Accept the terms of service and click submit.

You are then going to be brought to a page where your two API keys are. I’m going to blur these out, so nobody takes them. But copy the site key first and paste it into your WordPress site where it says Site Key. Then copy your secret key and paste that in. Under type, you are going to select either checkbox or invisible based on whether you selected V2 or V3. Click save settings.

And then when I go to my Gravity Forms, I’m going to add a captcha to my contact form. To add it search for reCAPTCHA in the search box here. You will see it pop up and you can drop it right it. Click update, and when you preview the form, because I have the invisible captcha installed, it’s going to show a little badge in the bottom righthand corner that shows me that reCAPTCHA is in fact active on this form.
