The Serra do Mar mountain range, from Paranapiacaba to Cubatão, is part of the Serra do Mar State Park. It includes the old road that leads to Santos, and a trail that was opened in 1560 by the first explorers, or perhaps even older, opened by indigenous people. There are old houses, museums, theaters, ruins, and viewpoints with beautiful landscapes. The trail is of medium-easy difficulty, with 18th-century stone paving. Many works of art and paintings are scattered throughout the mansions built around 1920.
