Create a High Contrast Grayscale Image for a Value Study
In this video I demonstrate how to create a high contrast grayscale image that can be used as a reference image for a watercolor value study.
Desaturate your full color reference image and boost the contrast to create an black and white image that contains the full range of values from white to black. You can use this grayscale reference image to complete a value study of your subject.

I use Photoshop CC 2019 in this video. However a similar effect can be created with any bitmap image editing software.
