Line D is the directrix of the parabola.
F is the parabola focus.
Triangle FSH is an isosceles one (SF = SH).
The longitudinal axis of the cyan bar contains the altitude of side FH of the said triangle. So always MF = MH
MH is the distance from M to the directrix D.
Thus, this mechanism was created based on the geometric definition of a parabola:
A parabola is a curve where any point is at an equal distance from a fixed point (the focus) to a fixed straight line (the directrix)
Equation of the parabola in coordinate system xOy:
y = (x*x)/(4*f)
Focal length f = OF.
