FIDE delegation visited the Foundation Sociale Oum Keltoum in Casablanca
A FIDE delegation led by Dana Reizniece-Ozola, Deputy Chair of the FIDE Management Board, visited the Foundation Sociale Oum Keltoum in Casablanca yesterday. Dana and Bachar Kouatly had previously visited the centre two years ago when the initiative began to discuss the chess program, which is supported by Bourse de Casablanca, the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
Now, they've returned alongside FIDE Vice President Sheikh Saud Bin Abdulaziz Al Mualla and Hussain Abdullah Al Koury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Chess Club & Mind Games.
The chess program now engages over 100 children. In addition to chess, the centre offers a rich tapestry of activities, including ballet, music, photography, painting, a health centre, and educational institutions.
As Ismail Berrada, Director of Development, aptly said, 'You can't have social activities without cultural activities.'
