How to use FUJIFILM camera as a Webcam with a Mac
Update: Fuji now have software for Windows and Mac that lets you connect the Fujifilm as a webcam over USB. However the quality doesn’t come close to using and HDMI capture card like this. Also I couldn’t actually get it show up with Zoom, even though the camera shows up in QuickTime.
This video looks at the equipment and settings needed to use your Fujifilm (XT3 and others) camera as a webcam. This video uses a Mac but the process is similar with a PC. The awesome shallow depth of field you can get with Fuji cameras makes them work super-well as webcams.

They have HDMI out so all you need is an adaptor to use the HDMI as a webcam signal.

There are some really handy settings that you need to get right that I go over in this video including disabling the SD Card recording so you can run the camera in its video mode to take advantage of its autofocus speed and sensitivity settings. You'll also want to set the right shutter speed and frame rate for the best look. You generally want to make sure your shutter speed is twice the frame rate. So we use 29.97 frame rate and 60th second shutter speed.
