What should a first day joining a new development team look like? You should be deploying something valuable to production on your first day! What practices are required in your team to be able to do that?
We will discuss topics like collaboration, BDD and continuous delivery. The main part of the session will be a live modeling and coding part using an example domain and app. We go together from understanding the domain and customer needs all the way to experiencing the change in production.
ABOUT TIMBER
My academic background is in mathematics, holding a PhD in probability theory.
Post-academia, I transitioned to software engineering, drawing early inspiration from XP practices, later molding my approach with DDD and continuous delivery principles.
Presently, I’m with CloudSuite, a SaaS scale-up offering an E-commerce platform where wholesalers and brand manufacturers can manage all their online channels. I've spearheaded our architecture modernization initiative and currently, I do anything that will improve our software delivery process—from suggesting organizational shifts to training developers and diving deep with our development teams for some hands-on coding.
