Proton D1200 Amplifier VU Meter Lamp Replacement - Let There Be Light
The Proton D1200 "Dynamic Power on Demand" amplifier is sort of a holy grail home amp for me. Rated at only 100 watts/ch at 8 ohms, it is said this amp can deliver nearly 2000 watts/ch peaks at 2 ohms. I recently got my hands on a very nice one, but there was one big problem...one of the VU meter lamps was out. No problem! In this video, I show the process of replacing the VU meter "fuse style" lamps with LED's. Amp now looks GREAT! Future video I'll show replacing RCA jacks and also Amp Dyno testing this beast!
