JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT DIES AFTER BEING BANGED WHILE HANGING OUT AT A HOSTEL
A student with the initials MTP, a resident of Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman Regency, died after being the victim of a mob attack.
The teenager was attacked while hanging out with 5 of his friends at a code angkringan, precisely on Jalan Monjali, Gang Code 1, Gemawang, Sinduadi, Mlati, Sleman Regency in the early hours of June 9.
During the incident, the victim and his friend RS were attacked by a group of young residents of the local village.
As a result of the assault, the victim MTP suffered injuries and eventually died.
Meanwhile, the victim RS suffered bruises on his face and body and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Head of Unit 2 of the Sleman Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Ipda Hauzan Zaky Rizqullah, in his statement on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, explained that his party had secured five suspected perpetrators.
While the other two people are still being pursued.
He has not explained in detail the motive for the assault, because the victim has not been able to be questioned.
Meanwhile, chronologically, this incident began when the victim, who is a junior high school student, was hanging out with his friends at a street stall until 2 in the morning.
Based on information from the alleged perpetrators, the victim's group had been asked to disperse.
But because it was ignored, the perpetrators then became emotional and a mob attack occurred.
As a result of the assault, one student died, while another had to undergo medical treatment.
The suspects were arrested on June 11, 2025 after officers gathered information from witnesses and a number of clues.
For this incident, the suspects are threatened with articles on child protection. (*)
