Insane carp bite, summer 2021 opening of the Ili River
Hello everyone, the summer fishing season on the Ili River has opened. We didn't find a spot right away; there were at least two cars of people everywhere. We had to build a spot from scratch. Local fundraisers were also involved, but we politely turned them down. Regarding the fishing, the carp are biting relentlessly, with specimens ranging from a kilo to 2.5 kilos. One grass carp landed on a baitfish, and a small catfish was caught on a worm, but was immediately released. There were plenty of fish between the five anglers, and we gained about 30-35 kilos.
Departure date: June 5, 2021. We only had one day. It's a bit of a distance, but what won't you do for fishing?
