I decided to use a short audio clip of an interview Franka Sachse (animation director) recorded. The special thing was that we had met in the forest to talk undisturbed and so the recordings became unusually playful and partly also very personal. On top of this i also followed an advice from Izabela Plucinska (animation director), she once told me to make myself as a character to practice animation. The result, "The Artist", is a short excursion into my head box as an artist. A monologue in the face of the unfinished work of art. Since everything is somehow autobiographical, the reference to my life was also given and i was able to get a lot of inspiration from my surroundings. For example, during the Aardman Stop Motion course i work in a shared studio. It has a painters' place there and my set construction became similar as a result. The crazy thing about being an artist is being alone, most of the time. Somehow coming to terms with yourself and finding a value for your work, independent of success and recognition. For me, stop motion animation is a great way to both express my inner self and constantly learn something new. This process is so dynamic that i can't get enough of it. Which I wanted to express in my film.
