Heart Beat OBS Overlay Part 2 - Detecting heartbeat with OpenAnt + Python 3
In this part of we use Open Ant, Python 3 and to detect the heart rate from the Ant+ device, and then integrate that with the pygame heart beat renderer from the previous episode.
As per last video, integrating with the pygame is really easy and lets us have a cool animated heartbeat that can then be overlaid onto any game that we play - allowing streamers to have cooler interaction with their viewers.
This video is brought to you in a way that allows beginners to start playing with pygame and just hack away at something cool. If you're only starting out in programming in Python, or looking for inspiration for a cool project, this is the sort of thing I would recommend. It allows for a level of creativity as well as having some cool outputs for your streaming channel.
This is not quite an ECG - the actual heartbeat is fake, but it goes in time with your actual heart rate, so at a fraction of a price of a Real ECG. Then finally, we install this into OBS as an actual overlay, and show the chroma-keying of the build and how cool it looks.
