Russia is a popular destination among international students for education because of affordable fees and high world ranking universities. Although many courses are available in English language, not all the courses are available in English and are available in Russian language only.

To join any course in Russian language, it is mandatory to do a 1 year preparatory course and after the completion of the preparatory course, you can apply for your preferred course in Russian Language.
There are different types of preparatory courses depending on your academic direction, meaning what you want to do after the completion of the preparatory course. The academic direction will decide the subjects in your preparatory course including Russian language.
Most of the university in Russia have preparatory course in offline mode only, while some universities even have online/distant preparatory course as well.
Students who only want to learn the Russian Language can join a Russian Language course, the duration of which can vary. Although a 9 or 10 month Language course is recommended so that you can be fluent in Russian language.
Many universities have language or preparatory course and the tuition fees of each university is different. It is usually between 80,000 Rubles to 200,000 Rubles for complete course, but it can vary for some universities.
