After a year and a half of constant grinding I finally made my childhood dream come true, when beginning my grind of this game in November 2022 I was not sure what was going to happen. I wasn't too familiar with speedrunning and only dabbled in a couple games such as Minecraft and Disney Infinity, but I always knew I wanted to speedrun this game from the very first time I got into the hobby. The nostalgia I have for Super Mario Galaxy and 2 is unparalleled to any other game, just hearing the music of this game gives me goosebumps its that special to me. I remember sitting in my room one night and being amazed by the terrace dome and how you could go to different planets, it was just so different to anything I had ever seen. The atmosphere of Super Mario Galaxy is way ahead of its time and I believe that's why I have such a strong connection to this game;
I have always loved Mario games, but this was something out of this world.
