to be over the moon - to be extremely happy
not a happy camper/bunny - not pleased about a situation
to be under the weather - slightly ill
to be the last straw - something small that makes you realise that you can’t accept the situation any more
to cry over spilt milk - to get upset over something that has already happened and cannot be changed
to have the blues/to beat the blues – to feel sad
to have the time of your life – to have a great time
to cost an arm and a leg – to be very expensive
to be worth every penny – to be worth the money
Money doesn’t grow on trees - do not spend money carelessly because you do not have a lot of it
to be on the fence – not to be able to decide something

with the benefit of hindsight - the understanding that you have of a situation only after it has happened and that means you would have done things in a different way
to pass (your exam) with flying colours - very well; with a very high mark
