The footage shows three Queensland Police officers speaking to a man in an alleyway.
At one point a male officer punches the man in the face without any visible provocation.
Shortly afterward, the video then shows two officers holding the man against a wall while the third repeatedly kicks or knees him.
The Brisbane Region QPS has informed the Ethical Standards Command about the incident, and it is currently being investigated.
"It is important that members of the community have confidence in their police, and that is why all members of the Queensland Police Service are expected to act professionally and ethically in accordance with the Service's high standards at all times," Brisbane Region Acting Assistant Commissioner Allan McCarthy said.
"The initial investigation is based on the viewing of a video uploaded to YouTube which has since been removed by the user.
"The Queensland Police Service would like to encourage the person who took the video to contact the Service and to provide the original video and any further information in relation to this incident.
While the press release issued by the Queensland Police indicates that the original video has been deleted, a video matching the description was later published again.
No allegations or complaints about the officers have been substantiated at this time.
