This is another combination of various experiments I've recently done that use real time footage as there base with the Trapcode Form's alpha channels to give it this particle look. The edits are very similar to my initial alpha channel experiment with the Eye in the sense they all use rather large particles at random sizes each with it's own movement so that hardly anything on the screen is static, although in parts this does effect the legible of the type when the camera is still; like in the snail footage.
I'll briefly go over what I think is working or not in each and maybe the process of how I did it:
The first: I tried to improve the Eye experiment from before, using the panning out effect I thought was working well with the Blood Cell & Strings with the intention that I could maybe merge these together I also tried to focus solely on the eye and made a much better dispersal of the particles which would signify the death by adding more flow and size difference to the disperse.
The second: This is the autumn leafs animation, here I used a technique which I thought work really well, I took away the background colour from the original footage and only kept the oranges and yellows which made the leafs stand out a hell of a lot more, I also used the Fractal Field which added what look like burns, along with the footage these move around and change size, I think this is the perfect mixture of good settings
The third: I again removed some of the background colours from the footage however it dint work as well with the plants being white that mix in the river behind, the way the plants move and blow in the wind is pretty cool as it makes the particles jump out and in, this was due to a layer map edit I used in all that made the particles more 3 dimensional with the movement of the footage.
The fourth and fifth: The footage was of HD snail close up and made for some interesting visuals and although the background made them stand out to the rest it tend to be very annoying to work with as the type could not be legible over it without it being bright green or something. The background also kind of took away from the story of the atom creating up these things, it felt like these atoms just created everything instead.
I think I'm getting closer to what I want from this effect but I still have some work to do. I also want to note that just because I'm combining these as sets doesn't mean I'm just going to use one style or the other, I'm wanting to look for what I feel is working best to convey the story in each style and then look at how it will work with each other.
