The seals in this video aren't as cute as they might seem at first glance. Pinnipeds, from small seals to enormous elephant seals, are, according to Wikipedia, mammals of the order Carnivora. Therefore, people in the presence of these animals should always be wary. Harbor seals are the cutest of the pinnipeds, typically reaching about 1.5 meters in length and weighing 100 kg. However, it's important to remember that all seals, including fur seals, the dangerous sea lion, leopard seal, elephant seal, walrus, and Steller sea lion, are all mammals of the order Carnivora. But not all pinnipeds are dangerous to humans. There are some, like Pancho the sea lion, who was long ago domesticated by humans as fishing bait for the city of Cabo San Lucas, located in southern Mexico. Numerous fishermen come here to hunt skipjack tuna or large marlin, and Pancho the sea lion, this large seal, is in action, hunting these fishermen and their fresh fish.
Here's a case of an elephant seal becoming a local celebrity in the city of Puerto Cisne, Chile. This elephant seal got lost in the city, which was under quarantine, and when all the streets were empty, it wandered 10 blocks. People later helped the seal return to its natural habitat. Another large animal that sometimes terrorizes people is the fearsome Steller sea lion. For example, this Steller sea lion is eating fish on a trawl, and everyone is shocked by the predator's presence. When a walrus does get into action, it's often unnoticed, as they live in regions near the North Pole that are virtually uninhabited by humans. They can weigh up to two tons, though most weigh between one and one and a half tons.
