Less than 4 months for Dork Cast 15, I sat down with Christian Eckler from ancoreSoft to showcase their reporting, mapping and scripting solution for Qlik Sense. Really cool stuff.
This week Christian showed me something that wasn't just cool, it was in my eyes revolutionary. So revolutionary it actually caused me to think about Qlik Application Automations in a new way. He was kind enough to take time out of his schedule to share what I saw for the first time this week, with the rest of you.
In this video you will see how the ancoreShare reporting extension can now let you call a Qlik Application Automation and ... be sure you are sitting down ... allow you to simply paste the code blocks into the automation needed to execute the report. The automation can then be enhanced to deliver the report anywhere you want it to go. End users can then simply press the button to do the delivery.
The story keeps building. While you can certainly create 2, 3, 5, 100 buttons to run different reports that would be delivered to different folks in different ways, they provide a way for the end user to simply choose the report and in which format it should be used, then the automation is called.
Surely it can't get any better than that. Oh but it can. Maybe you want to have reports run as Bob right after an application is reloaded. Guess what? They create the block for you that you simply paste into your automation workflow.
As their reports are called asynchronously, so the workflow can continue, they actually provide a placeholder so you can say "Here is the webhook to call when the report actually completes." Which means not only can you report success/failure for your reporting solution, it's scalable folks.
Whether you are drooling for a reporting solution, or are simply looking for a wake up call on the power of Qlik Application Automation this is the video you must watch.
