In this video, we will go over the Video Tool Properties Panel. The Tool Properties Panel is located at the bottom of your Workspace and will remain blank until a file is added to CaseGuard Studio.

To begin, add a video file to CaseGuard Studio.
With a video file added to CaseGuard, the Tool Properties Panel will default populate with the options needed to perform Manual Redaction.
The Tool Properties Panel changes based on the tool you have selected from the Tool Bar such as AI Automatic Detection, Cut, or Drop Media.
In the Tool Properties Panel, the Redaction shape can be selected from the shape dropdown and you have the options of Rectangle, Triangle, Ellipse, and Diamond.
From the effects list, you can select one of the four Redaction effects or choose an Enhancement effect.
The Enhancement effects are great for reading license plates, identifying tattoos, and seeing suspects in poorly lit environments.
A Redaction Reason can be selected from the Reasons list or a new one can be added by clicking the “plus sign” and clicking “Add New.”
The default Redaction option is the Standard option which Redacts everything behind the box. The Reverse option Redacts everything but the selected area and the Full Frame option Redacts everything in the frame that the Redaction box is drawn on.
Click on “Advanced Options,” here you can increase the thickness of the Redaction box borders, choose the border color, and choose to Show Titles for each Redaction box.
Let’s play the video and layer Enhancement effects to make the license plate in this video legible.
I will draw a Redaction box over the license plate and select the “Magnify” enhancement to zoom in.
Then I will add the “Sharpen” and Gray Scale” effects to increase the pixel quality in the selected area as well as make the characters on the license plate easier to discern. Now it is visible and reads L-0-S-F-5-1-4
In the Tool Properties Panel, the Redaction boxes of the current frame also appear and we can choose to delete or disable directly from here as well as from the Object Detection Panel.

Happy Redacting!
