Over the Rainbow features seven short films from four continents that tackle issues surrounding sexuality, sexual orientation and gender. Films include those from Brazil, Philippines, Russia, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the US.
A River Between Us, Brazil from director Sergio Andrade is about a young man who is unsure of his sexuality. On the other side of the world, Sigrid Bernardo's film Little is a touching and humorous look at the maturation of a provincial boy and his blooming romance. Petersburg Moscow, Russia by Dmitry Gribanoff introduces us to two young girls from the two cities who are falling in love. Cappucino, Switzerland from filmmaker Tamer Ruggli, is about a high school student whose life is brewing over his attraction to a classmate. Aleem Khan's Diana, United Kingdom, is taking place on the same day the Princess of Wales dies, as it follows an Indian pre-op trans person devastated by the news. Tracks, US, by Deana Williams is about two young black women who are falling in love despite their families' stern objections. And in Carlita, US, by Afdhere Jama, a gender-bending person refuses to be dismissed and will remind you of her name.
