here are 15 total artifacts to collect while playing, and should all come naturally with progression while you're going for the rest of the achievements. Four artifacts are given from specific NPC sidequests. The other 11 are all found in big chests and distributed randomly. You might get one item first, you could get that item at the very last.
The items you get from specific NPC quests are:
The "Fairy Aura" from the Fairy Fountain (Grass Biome)
The "Magic Scepter" from the Wizard (Fire Biome)
The "Pink Bow" from the Princess (Desert Biome)
The "Skeleton Key" from the Goblin (Graveyard Biome)
