WhiteGMC with Cummins L10 Manual Side Load Garbage Truck + Volvo on Recycling
Enjoy watching an early 1990s drop-frame WhiteGMC WXLL with a manual side load refuse compaction body mounted on it. Said body was manufactured by a California builder called CWS. This truck was seen doing a rural route outside of Escondido, CA collecting yard waste, which would have most likely been used as Alternate Daily Cover to layer over the trash at Sycamore Canyon Landfill in Lakeside. With sunlight year round, the San Diego region sees so much plant growth that green waste trimmings like these are almost too plentiful to be used as compost or mulch. Haulers get credit for recycling the material if it's used as Alternate Daily Cover, so the hauler in this area (EDCO Disposal) did just that.
Another truck makes a quick appearance collecting household recyclables. It's a 2000-2001 Volvo Xpeditor fitted with an automated side-loading body called the Rapid Rail, which was made by Heil Environmental.
