We are in a maternity ward on another planet. Space doors slide open to reveal Al the
Alien Midwife!
Al: “Alright lads, Al the midwife here! Welcome to the Intergalactic Maternity Ward!
So you’re having a human baby, huh? Nice! I’ve actually heard Earthling dads can
sometimes feel pretty left out during pregnancy. Well DON’T panic! You can get
involved mate! Did y’know from around 18 weeks a human baby can hear you from
inside the womb? Crazy right? So…’
An alien couple who are both quite rotund stand staring at Al awkwardly.
Al: “You want to get right up close to the baby bump…”
Al’s head slowly moves into frame up to the alien’s big bump and starts talking at it.
Al (gently spoken): “Hey there bud…”
Both Alien’s look at each other awkwardly.
Al: “Just like this… start talking or singing as it helps baby recognize those dulcet
tones! After birth this can help with bonding which means developing your
relationship with your baby!” Starts clearing his throat to sing!
Al pats the Alien’s bump and sings terribly.
Al is patting and singing at Dad’s belly… Dad’s belly gurgles he then lets out a little.
Mother Alien: “Ahem. Errr… Al? Mum right here...”
