I bought these to cool off my apartment by exhausting warm air in the summer while I am not home. When I am home I can lower the speed to have less noise. I live in an attic apartment and it gets very warm here if I don't circulate the air. I have the windows open in the bedroom and these fans are in the living room which I spend less time in so the bedroom gets the coolest air. Check the other video on how I connected the fans to the Noctua NA-FC1 4-Pin PWM Fan Controller.
