DISCLAIMER: ALWAYS check with each insurance provider to determine if they have a policy on billing for dry needling. SOME DO! Some insurance companies will specifically tell you to bill dry needling as a CPT code other than 20560 or 20561. In that case, billing a code other than the dry needling CPT code is perfectly ethical and in no way would constitute fraud. Also, some insurance companies are paying for the 20560 and 20561 code. Again, please check with each insurance provider you work with to determine if they have a specific policy.
