The engine has been revamped from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo boxer six-cylinder to a 3.6-litre single-turbo boxer six-cylinder, now featuring an electric turbocharger. This innovation ensures better response and efficiency, boosting performance without compromising the signature Porsche driving experience.
Key Highlights:
Engine Upgrade: The new 3.6-litre single-turbo engine delivers 478 horsepower, a slight increase from the previous 473, but with notable performance enhancements.
Electric Turbocharger: Experience almost instant boost with the electric turbo, reducing the time to reach full boost from over three seconds to less than one.
Torque and Power Delivery: The torque remains at 420 pound-feet, now with a wider torque curve for better power delivery. An additional 64 horsepower and 110 pound-feet of torque are provided by an electric motor, bringing the total system output to 532 horsepower and 449 pound-feet of torque.
Performance: The new GTS is nearly nine seconds faster around the Nurburgring Nordschleife compared to its predecessor.
Weight: Despite the added electric components, the new GTS only weighs 103 pounds more than the previous model.
Hybrid Efficiency: The hybrid system includes energy recovery from the exhaust via the electric turbocharger and regenerative braking, enhancing efficiency and performance.
