A Tough (and Very Rare) Soviet "Accord" Guitar with Italian Roots.
Today we'll talk about a very rare electric guitar from the USSR. This instrument was produced at the Accord consumer services factory in Leningrad for about five years at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, and in many ways it was very different from the more common Soviet guitars. However, like almost all Soviet guitars, this Accord can play true Norwegian black metal. :))
The history of electric guitar production at the Accord factory is described by Yakov Sokolov (aka Ya-Ha) here: https://sovietguitars.com/e107_plugin... . Highly recommended reading, extremely interesting.
For those new to the channel and interested in guitars. I'm a guitar collector (not a musician), and I occasionally build them myself, so there's no need for me to point out that I play poorly. I know it, you hear it, and I know you hear it.
A general overview of my collection is available at • Коллекция гитар. Часть 1. Общий обзор / Gu... (it's grown even larger by now). In addition to other topics covered on the channel, I publish short stories (not exactly reviews) about the pieces in this collection.
