Geraldton to Jurien Bay Road trip! Why does no one talk about this drive?! Wild weather, epic free camp spots, and WA’s coast like we've never seen it! (we're nearly in Perth...) 😲👀
We honestly didn’t expect this stretch to be so eventful — but it had it all: wild weather, incredible free camps, sleepy towns, and WA’s weirdest roadside tree! 💨
After getting caught in a proper storm in Geraldton, we visited the HMAS Sydney Memorial, finally restocked at Aldi, and checked out the Horizon Ball (…in the rain 😅). Then it was onto Ellendale Pool — beautiful but potentially home to brain-eating amoeba - we played it safe... 😷
From there, we rolled through Port Denison and along the Indian Ocean Drive, stopped at Point Louise, scoped out Dynamite Bay, and ended up camping with kangaroos and emus at Karda Campground near Lesueur National Park. We even spotted an echidna! 🦔
To be honest, this drive surprised us — and if you're travelling WA, it might surprise you too! 🤭
