Like marriage, following Christ is a daily walk and a daily commitment. Evangelism is focused on making converts, which can happen in a moment. But making disciples is a call to daily commitment. We must be about discipleship and making disciples from the beginning of the process to the end. It is important that people know we aren't just trying to get them to make a decision for Christ. We are trying to get people to commit to Christ and actually follow Him from that point forward.
