Ready to hit those high notes? In this vocal workout, we'll show you how to sing high notes with ease. Perfect for singers looking to improve their vocal range!
Welcome to your 5-minute high note vocal workout!
This routine is designed to help singers strengthen their high range and achieve perfect resonance without any talking interruptions.
Exercise 1: Triplet Run on the 'Ooh' Vowel
The first exercise uses a triplet run on the 'ooh' vowel. This vowel is excellent for promoting the perfect resonance needed for high notes. The 'ooh' sound encourages the vocal tract to remain in a relaxed, rounded position, which helps in reducing tension and allowing the vocal cords to stretch and vibrate more freely. This results in a clearer, more resonant high note.
Exercise 2: Lip Trill on Major Arpeggios
Next, we move on to lip trills on major arpeggios. Semi-occluded vocal tract (SOVT) exercises, like lip trills, are incredibly beneficial for the high range. They help in balancing the air pressure above and below the vocal folds, which reduces strain and fatigue. By partially occluding the vocal tract, lip trills encourage efficient vocal fold vibration and improve breath management, making high notes easier to reach and sustain.
Exercise 3: 'Nah' on a Major Scale (Swing Rhythm)
The final exercise is singing "nah" on a major scale with a swing rhythm. Nasal sounds like "nah" promote sinus resonance, which is crucial for a strong high range. The nasal cavity acts as a natural amplifier, enhancing the brightness and projection of your voice. By focusing on the 'nah' sound, singers can develop better placement and resonance, making their high notes more powerful and vibrant.
