The Skye Boat Song is a late 19th-century Scottish song adaptation of a Gaelic song composed in 1782 by William Ross. Sir Harold Boulton composed a lyrics evoked the journey of Prince Charles Edward Stuart ("Bonnie Prince Charlie") after his defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
The Skye Boat Song tune used as theme song for Outlander, a historical drama television series, and set to Robert Louis Stevenson's poem "Sing Me a Song of a Lad That Is Gone".
