Tito Ambyo
Tito Ambyo is an Indonesian/Australian journalist, writer, researcher and producer whose innovative approaches to storytelling has garnered awards. Tito has also been longlisted by the Walkley for Innovation in Journalism for his project on immersive journalism, Storylab, and his manuscript for a novella, 'A Peci for Mamadou', was shortlisted for the inaugural Deborah Case Prize.
Dr Pradeep Taneja
Dr Pradeep Taneja is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Social and Political Sciences and Deputy Associate Dean (International) for the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne. He is also an Academic Fellow of the Australia India Institute and a Member of the Centre for Contemporary China Studies. Pradeep has held Senior Visiting Professorships/Fellowships at Hong Kong Baptist University, National University of Singapore and Mercator Institute of China Studies in Berlin. His published work largely revolves around Asian politics, political economy and international Policy in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on China and India.
Dr Emma Shortis
Dr Emma Shortis is Senior Researcher in the International & Security Affairs Program. Emma is historian and writer, focused on the history and politics of the United States and its role in the world. Emma’s book, Our Exceptional Friend: Australia’s Fatal Alliance with the United States, was published by Hardie Grant in 2021.
Dr Robert Horvath
Dr Robert Horvath is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at La Trobe University and a specialist on Russian Politics. His most recent book is 'Putin's Fascists: Russkii Obraz and the Politics of Managed Nationalism in Russia' (Routledge, 2021). It examines the relationship between the Putin regime and Russkii Obraz, a neo-nazi organization that became a major force on Russia's radical nationalist scene in 2008-10. It shows how Russkii Obraz’s rise was boosted by the regime’s policy of ‘managed nationalism,’ which mobilised radical nationalist proxies against opponents of authoritarianism.
