// Importing SPSS Files into R //
In this video, I briefly demonstrate how to import SPSS files into R using the read.spss (foreign package) or read_sav (haven package) function. Creating a data frame using this function is incredibly simple. It's important to know where the file is located—either in the working directory or somewhere completely different. However, you can reference this using absolute cell references.
A final and very convenient way to avoid using the working directory or absolute cell references is the file.choose() function. This allows you to directly select the (SPSS) file you want to import in a dialog box.
