Lipedema Reduction Surgery | Behind the Scenes
This patient came to us experiencing debilitating pain caused by her lipedema, which was also causing progressive lack of mobility. During the pre-op consultation, before Lipedema Reduction Surgery, Dr. Jaime Schwartz had the patient identify her areas of pain and tenderness, and these areas were marked with a red marker as areas to target during the procedure.
The surgery starts with Lymphatic Sparing Liposuction followed by Manual Lipedema Extraction™. We remove ALL of the lipedematous fat at each location during each phase of surgery, so once a patient’s treatment plan is complete, the goal is to have all of the lipedema fat in their body removed- resulting in no more pain!
