The Natural Dublin Service Boot is an updated interpretation of Viberg’s original work boot, designed by company founder Edwin Viberg in 1931 and inspired by a standard issue military boot pattern used by several nations during WWII. After a year of working with Viberg to source a Division Road exclusive leather, we found this Natural Dublin from Horween that combines our affinity for workwear durability, glove-like comfort, and dramatic patina potential. The Natural Dublin leather uses the same traditional extracts as Horween’s Cordovan with a high oil and fat content. This nude leather is hand glazed with an aniline finish to retain the hide’s natural feel and surface, then waxed for pull up qualities giving it a golden tan coloration and remarkable grain characteristics. The result is a hearty leather with a supple waxy feel that will develop a robustly resplendent patina. Molded on the 1035 Last for a sleeker low profile boot with an accommodative fit, the boot is complemented with vintage brass eyelets, a natural midsole atop the aggressive Goodyear commando sole, and a leather pull loop for an elevated heritage work boot aesthetic. With each piece carefully assembled by exacting Viberg craftsmen using stitchdown construction, this is perfect for those looking for a collectible golden boot that ages into a rich medium brown with classic grit. The Natural Dublin Service Boot, with its sophisticated shape in an outdoor focused design made in a truly distinguished and rare material, will be highly utilized within any vintage-inspired modern wardrobe.
