How to get into a car after surgery - Therapeutic Training Exercises
Everyday tasks, such as getting in and out of a car, can become more difficult after suffering from a major injury or undergoing surgery.
Here's how to properly get into a car:
1: Back up to car
2: Tuck head down and place hand on back of car seat for support while sitting down.
3: Use only unaffected leg to push up and back onto seat
4: Slowly swivel around (smooth clothing or plastic wrap can make this easier)
Special precautions:
Keep legs apart
Avoid twisting affected leg
Follow hip precautions if needed
