We left a piece of Chipboard, Moisture Resistant Chipboard and Plywood in a bowl filled with water halfway.
After 24 hours we found that the chip pieces in the Chipboard expanded and would disintegrate if left longer... The Plywood piece absorbed so much water that it would expand if it was left in the water any further... Although the Moisture Resistant Chipboard absorbed water, the moisture resistant coating prevented it from absorbing the water too fast... Plus, the chip pieces maintained their size...
We will be conducting an experiment again and will leave the pieces in the water longer and with better measuring tools...
