The Children’s Mercy Department of Orthopedic Surgery is one of the largest programs in the country in a free-standing pediatric hospital, embracing a multidisciplinary collaborative approach that puts children first. Designated a level 1 trauma center by the American College of Surgeons, the division is well known for innovations in spine and trauma surgery, sports medicine, hand surgery and a wide range of complex surgical treatments. A complementary focus on access, mental health, quality and safety, and the overall patient experience is helping achieve world class outcomes for patients.
