Meet the Experts: Winston Manimtim, MD - Neonatology
Meet Winston M. Manimtim, MD, FAAP, Medical Director for the Infant Tracheostomy and Home Ventilator Program at Children’s Mercy Kansas City.
Dr. Manimtim is a board-certified Neonatologist at the regions only level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with extensive experience in caring for children who require the support of a ventilator. In 2005 the Infant Tracheostomy & Home Ventilator Program was launched and is currently led by Dr. Manimtim. The program provides the opportunity for babies who need a tracheostomy, with or without a ventilator, to be sent home from the hospital earlier than ever before. His goal with the program is to make sure every parent is comfortable and confident in their child’s new routine.
His passion continues with research in children’s language development due to the effect of a tracheostomy. His research and results are shared nationally, and a manuscript is in development.
